Our 2020 Charity Project
Our charity quilts for 2020 will be going to the Neonatal Unit at City Hospital in Birmingham to ‘wrap’ the incubators with babies in. Quilts need to be approximately 50” x 60” finished size and, if possible, have a dark fabric backing.
Alternatively, you can make cot size quilts for the babies to take home with them, cot size being approximately 30” x 40”.
If you are making a quilt for the Neonatal Unit and would like wadding, please ask at one of our meetings as the group has supply of wadding for use in our charity quilts. Don't forget to note the dimensions of your quilt so that the wadding can be cut to size. There is also some backing fabric available upon request.
On Saturday 2nd May and on Saturday 3rd October, we will be holding our Quilts from the Heart workshops where we will have a supply of fabric, thread and wadding for our charity quilt-making. (Unfortunately, these workshops have been cancelled due to Covid-19)
If you have sewing or quilting items, from fabric to thread, equipment, books - in fact anything that is in reasonable condition that you no longer want - please contact Helena to discuss this further; we often have 'sales' to raise funds for charities
